Preface
This City Code for the City of Askov has been prepared
pursuant to authorization by the Council under Sections 412.191, 415.021 and
599.13 of the Minnesota Statutes.
The ordinances have been arranged in a code with a
decimal system. This system permits
amendment and enlargement by passage of new ordinances with suitable
numbering. The official ordinance book
will be maintained for future ordinances as in the past, and new ordinances
will continue, showing year and chronologic number but where appropriate will
be inserted directly into the code. This code upon adoption superseded the previous code of ordinances and
is prima facie evidence in court.
Revisions of a minor nature to remove obsolete or
outmoded expressions and adjust to current conditions have been made by the
Council. All ordinances formerly of
record which were not a part of the code, unless they have been repealed
specifically, are still in effect.
Penalty provisions for the enforcement of the bulk of
the ordinances are contained in a single section of the code. These sections apply in all cases where a
specific and different penalty is not set forth in the various portions of the
code.
Preliminary preparation of this code book and ordinances was done by the Askov Planning Commission in 1992-3.
