DOG LICENSING TO BE CONDUCTED IN FEBRUARY & MARCH 2007

If you live in the City of Askov, by ordinance, your dog must have a current license and a current rabies vaccination. Licensing will be done once a year in February or March, with the exception of the licensing of new dogs. Licensing will be done at City Hall. You must bring a current rabies certificates with you.

The license and tag will be coordinated with the rabies certificate. If it is a new three-year rabies certificate, your license will be $7.50, payable to the City of Askov, and will be good for three years. If you have a young dog and it has received either a one-year or two-year vaccination, the license will be $2.50 or $5.00 respectively. If your license and your vaccination are not due until 2008 or 2009, you need not come in this year; however if either of them are due in 2007 you must appear. We will prorate the license to fit with the rabies vaccination.

Please remember also that your dogs must be either on a leash or a chain or confined to your yard by a fence or kennel. They may not be allowed to roam free without a restraint or confines, or they will be considered free-roaming dogs, and you may be subject to being ticketed through the sheriff’s department.
